Helen Glenny originally qualified in biochemistry, with a PhD from Nottingham University, and has over 25 years experience of clinical research in a variety of therapeutic areas, Phases I to III.
Before becoming a consultant in 1992, Helen worked for Beecham, Smith Kline & French and SmithKline Beecham, latterly in strategy and planning aspects of clinical development within a CNS therapeutic team.
Helen is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Clinical Research (ICR). She was co-editor and contributor to the 'Handbook of Clinical Drug Research' (1986), a contributor to the 2nd. Edition (1994) and to 'Principles of Clinical Research' (2001). She has co-authored a 'Guide to Freelancing' (1998, updated in 2004 & 2009) and was a module leader for an MSc/Diploma course in Clinical Research at Liverpool JM University for 3 years until 2000. In 2003, Helen was appointed as an ICR assessor of clinical research training for accreditation purposes.
